Dormant Positivity

Standard

I keep learning to ask for nothing specific from the universe. It is a wise belief that the moment you specify exactly what you want in your life, you deter what is actually a more soul-satisfying outcome.

Sometimes your day goes totally wrong. You wake up feeling tired, again. You just received another unexpected medical bill in the mail, and it has been weighing on your conscious (and unconscious) mind all night. You realize that you have to cancel the acupuncture appointment that you have coming up the next week, you can’t afford it right now. You head to work with a drawing for a co-worker that you created as a gift for her baby shower. While at work, the previously mentioned drawing gets destroyed while you are attempting to laminate it.

… But stop…

Tell it again.

Sometimes your day gives you exactly what you need (and what you can handle). You call the insurance company about the unexpected medical bill, they cheerfully explain that, “The claim will be paid in full, the check was just sent to your old address.” You then update your address with the HR person, having a nice moment where you inadvertently remind her of something she needed to do. You then hear the message from the acupuncturist’s office, “No worries on canceling your appointment, we were just about to call you. We actually needed to cancel.” Heading home, you feel thankful about the picture frame you co-worker graciously gave you. It inspires you to create a new drawing, to fit the frame, and you actually end up liking it more than the original. Your energy has returned.

XO.
